5 Important Precaution To Take During Conventions For Cosplayers!
Hellooo there Readers! Are you a cosplayer like me? If yes, you might want to cut out some of your time playing games, watching anime, shopping for your cosplay pieces or
either reading manga to read the content I'm about to write here!
Of course, the effectiveness of the advises I'm sharing may vary depending on different kind of people, but nevertheless if you are in a convention , cosplaying, here are a few things that you have to take note of!
PROBLEM NUMBER 1#
UNSTEADY WIG.
Im sure everyone who cosplays must have encounter problem of their wigs moving around, or going out of shape during conventions. It can be very annoying sometimes, especially with a bunch of photographer coming to your way asking for pictures and snapping photos of how ugly it looks! You'll find yourself not having the chance to look at how terrible you look like or even cry about it when someone tag you on a terrible photo of yourself later on when you're back home. Found this situation similar? Here is the M.E.M that I personally found the best based from experience.

Most Effective Method; Pick characters with hair accessories!
(For example, Hats,Pins,Headdress,ect)
I found this the best way to solve the problem of wigs going out of shape. The hair accessory will act as a support to maintain your wigs to make sure it stays there for hours and hours! Of course, before this my method was to click more than 10 pins in my wig net to my hair. It's stronger but still goes out of shape easily sooner or later, sometimes, before half day in the event! I've also take precaution like asking my friends if my wigs goes out of shape (Unfortunately, this does not work effectively as not everyone knows how to differentiate between a terrible hair and a good hair), or making less large movement but you gotta admit that neither of the methods works as effective as wearing hair accessories! Trust me!

PROBLEM NUMBER 2#
EXTRA LUGGAGE FOR PHONES AND WALLETS / STOLEN GOODS.
Well. Im pretty sure this is a common problem for most cosplayers. I myself know some cosplayers who is willing to leave their wallets or either phones at home just to avoid problems. But for my case ,I understand its really important to bring your phones and wallet (IC,money, ect) around. Especially for cosplayers, you have to take extra precaution to bring this few extra things in your bag for emergency uses!
Items you must bring to a convention (For cosplayers) At least a mineral water or canned drinks, Snacks or lunch box, Wig Comb, Contact lens eye drop, Contact lens storage box, Back-up make up products (Especially eyelash glue for girls) , Tissue, Sanitary Pads (For girls, just in case), Extra casual cloths. (Optional but you'll find this very important by the end of the day if you will be walking out of the convention for long hours), Your phone, Your money, Your ticket!
Most Effective Method : Request for extra pockets if you get your costume tailored,
or either for self made weapon or props , make sure you leave some space to put your important stuff inside!
Of course, its undeniable to not bring an extra bag just to put on the other less important stuffs in the items you must bring to a convention list above, but by following the most effective method above, you can separate the important items, like your phones and wallet with the least ones just to make sure that if you are losing stuffs (Which is quite a common case during conventions as well) ,
you are not losing valuable ones! And it will ease the burden of many other cosplayers who are looking for you/with you when you get your phones and wallet real close to you!
PROBLEM NUMBER 3#
BEING OUT OF PLACE.
Ok, we all know that majority of the cosplayers are not naturally outgoing, talkative or sociable. We pick things like these up as we join the community. So its unavoidable to feel out of place for once in awhile especially for newbie cosplayers! To be honest, not just newbies, sometimes, as an old cosplayer you'll feel out of place too, especially with the sudden increase of new cosplayers which might take over the whole convention, especially big ones! But when things get messy, we cant just make it stay that way! Remember, you're here to enjoy yourself and have fun! Since you have your gears with you (Your cosplay) , why not put it to a good use? It's no problem to act as a total opposite of who you are in your cosplay!
Feel free to run wild! Nobody's gonna blame you!
Most Effective Method : BE PLAYFUL. BE YOUR CHARACTER. IMAGINE YOURSELF IN A ROLE PLAYING GAME. DROWN YOURSELF TO THE COSPLAY WORLD.
PROBLEM NUMBER 4#
UGLY PHOTO OF YOURSELF TAKEN.
This can be a problem from the photographer's skill or either yourself not ready yet. To decrease problems like this, try to practice various poses, ways of talking, and actions regularly at home. Sometimes, you dont only get a bad photo of yourself taken when photographer asks you to poses. But there are times when the photographer will be aiming at you without yourself noticing. Thus, try to think that the photos are on you all the time and naturally, despite ready or not, you are up for a good photo of yourself taken! Also, normally photos will reflect a chubbier side of you. If you are the kind of person who will look chubbier in cameras than real life, then remember to try your best to work out more!
Most Effective Method : Do not blame the photographer for the ugly and fat picture, instead, try to use that picture as a motivation to improve yourself! Plus, instead of blaming, you should be really thinking about the possibilities of how the picture will be better next time and move on for improvement from how YOU can change it! By doing this, you'll be seeing less ugly pictures of yourself the next time doing conventions! Nobody likes a bad picture!

PROBLEM NUMBER 5#
ANNOYING/TOUCHY PEOPLE.
Of course, this may seem very unfriendly of me but I have to agree that this sort of cases happens the most when some non-cosplayer ask for a picture to be taken with me (Uncles,Banglas, ect). I hate it the most when they touch my shoulder, waist, or any other body parts which is inappropriate. I'm not cosplaying for you to touch me ,dude. Of course, I learned to politely say ''NO'' or use my props (If I have it) to distance myself with people like this, but I will still feel disgusted sometimes. Of course, it's very rare for this sort of cases to happen. But when it happens, you'll have to do something before you regret it forever!MOST EFFECTIVE METHOD : Stay in a group during large conventions, or either move around, but constantly look for your friends/ make friends with cosplayers and make sure you have less chances to be most likely solo. Most of the people take advantage of you when you are alone. If you are with a group or at least a few cosplayers, there are lower chances for people to get the chance to touch you as they would most likely be taking a picture with your group together rather than just them and you. Plus, your group will most probably be keeping an eye on you if you were interrupted when having a conversation with them, as they still have something to talk to you about , they will naturally be keeping an eye on you.
Alright ,so, those are 5 of the important precaution you must take as a cosplayer based on my experience in conventions! There are more. Really. But I won't wanna bored you out by typing more!
Haha! So what do you think?
Did you enjoyed it? That's all the report I have for today! Aye!
Don't forget to leave a comment! Cheers!
